Patapsco Lanband

Ideal for distributing and extending ISDN around a building, campus or between buildings without having to install special cables or worry about driving distances; just plug LanBand into your standard Ethernet LAN.

Not only is LanBand a great tool with many routing/distribution options, it can save large amounts of money in cabling and switches.

Clocks are recovered across the LAN and synchronised with the carrier ISDN PSTN so there are no slips/hits due to clocks running at different rates.

Completely transparent to users data so any device can use LanBand, voice, video, encryptors, faxes, codecs etc.

LAN capacity is only used when a call is in place.

Users can share and contend for the ISDN PSTN service without having to patch cables or reconnect devices.

ISDN devices can inter-connect without going via the PSTN ? LanBand turns your private network into a virtual ISDN switched network ? just like the carrier?s.

Διαμοιρασμός BRIs πάνω από το LAN

A good example application, shown above, distributing ISDN around a building for videoconferencing. Whether-or-not you use IP-based codecs for communications within your organisation, the chances are you use ISDN to connect to partners/customers not on your network by using ISDN.

Getting the usual ISDN BRIs to the videoconference rooms can be expensive and difficult because of driving distances. You may also want several videoconference rooms to share the PSTN access so somehow you need to switch or patch the cables between the videos and the network. LanBand overcomes all of these issues by using your standard LAN structure and sharing the ISDN access as needed ? both out-bound and in-bound calls. There is a lot of flexibility on how the routing of calls can be done.

Τροχηλατο Videoconference

A similar application might be for a roll-around videoconference unit which is shared between a number of users and rooms. Once again you have to pre-cable out any location where you might want a conference with all of the issues identified above. With LanBand solution just locate a LanBand on the videoconferencing roll-around and plug into your LAN! You can now hold an ISDN video conference anywhere you have a LAN port ? how flexible and easy is that!

The above examples identify just a few video conference applications but you can use the same concepts to provide ISDN BRIs and PRIs where you need them. Fast, simple and low cost.

This new product, based on Patapsco?s popular and established PacketBand platform, is being launched in December. More information, brochures etc will be added to this site shortly. If you have an immediate application please contact us as we may be able to assist you right now.
